Queen Elizabeth II meets David Bowie

Non è la prima volta che Banksy prende di mira la famiglia reale britannica, e non è nemmeno la prima per la regina Elisabetta.

In principio era toccato alla trisnonna, la regina Vittoria, essere rappresentata, in versione lesbo, mentre riceve un cunnilingus mantenendo intatta la sua austerità. Nel 2005 era stata la volta all'attuale regina, raffigurata con sembianze da scimpanzé, corona e gioielli su uno sfondo che richiama alla Union Jack.

Per "festeggiare" il Giubileo di Diamanti di Elisabetta II, il celebre writer ha regalato alla regina, ma soprattutto ai suoi fan, un ritratto in stile Aladdin Sane con l'immancabile e stiloso fulmine sull'occhio destro. L'arancione originale della copertina dell'album di Bowie, lascia il posto ad un rosso più acceso, che insieme al blu, da al ritratto un ulteriore tocco patriottico.

Il murales  è apparso in questi giorni sui muri di Bristol, città natale di Banksy, e ha sostituito un'altra opera dello stesso artista, recentemente vandalizzata.

Cosa ne penserà la regina? E soprattutto cose ne penserà l'eterno David?

It is not the first time that Banksy takes aim at the British royal family, and it's not the first either for Queen Elizabeth.

In the beginning it all started with the great-grandmother, Queen Victoria, who was represented in a lesbian version, while receiving a cunnilingus but keeping intact her austerity. In 2005 it was the turn to the current Queen, represented with appearances from chimpanzees, with the crown and jewels on a background reminiscent of the Union Jack.

To "celebrate" the Diamond Jubilee of Elizabeth II, the famous writer gave to the queen, but especially to his fans, an Aladdin Sane portrait-style with the inevitable stylish lightning on the right eye. The original orange, from Bowie's album cover, gives way to a more lively red, which, together with the blue, gives to the portrait a patriotic touch. The mural has appeared these days on the walls of Bristol, the birthplace of Banksy, and it replaced another one from the same artist, recently vandalized. What is She going to think? And, above all, what is the eternal David going to think?
