(Michael Jordan)Dennis Rodman (aka "Rodzilla", "The Worm" or simply "the Bad Guy") is a retired American Hall of Fame professional basketball player and his biography at NBA.com states that he's "arguably the best rebounding forward in NBA history".
In coach Phil Jackson (the most awarded basketball choach ever, 11 ring of champs) opinion, Dennis Rodman was the greatest athlete that he had ever coached (Michael Jordan, Shaquille O'Neal and Kobe Bryant were also Jackson's player).
However i'm not here to tell you only how Rodman played on the court, in fact I think that he is stunnig in the same way he behaves in his "daily life".He grew up in a section of Dallas, Texas, without a father (he left his family) and with a mother that didn't stay so much time at home because she took many odd jobs, four at the same time, so he spent a lot of time with his sisters, Debra and Kim.
If their mother wasn't at home, she used to leave them alone and to gave Debra (the older sister, that then will come to Italy and will play basketball for Ancona) a rifle for self defense, Dennis started feeling generally "overwhelmed" by the all-female household.
Then Rodman experienced his growth spurt, he became even more withdrawn because he felt odd in his own body, Dennis become so insecure around women that he thought he was homosexual. He lost his virginity when he was 20 years old and had his first sexual experience with a prostitute; he described this as an unpleasant experience.
All these kinds of experiences have made him the crazy amazing man that he is now.
One night in February 1993, Rodman was found, in the parking of Pistons, asleep in his car with a loaded rifle and four years later, in his biography As Bad As I Wanna Be, he described that night as the night when he killed the old Dennis and let surface the new Dennis.He was a so amazing character that in 1996, Rodman had his own MTV reality talk show called The Rodman world tour, which featured him in a series of odd-ball situations.
After his retirement from baskerball he was a wrestler, a competitor of Celebrity Big Brother (eliminated after 21 days), the unexpeted winner of Celebrity Mole, an actor and now he's trying to form a topless basketball team.
"I wear women's leggings under my clothes, but no lingerie."
and the second one is about the vision of his own basketball style:

Dennis Rodman (aka "Rodzilla", "The Worm" o semplicemente "the Bad Guy") è un ex-giocatore di basket e membro della Hall of Fame della NBA, sul sito della stessa nba è poi descritto come il più grande rimbalzista della storia di questo sport (e ciò nonostante fosse minimo 15 cm più basso dei suoi pari ruolo).
Coach Phil Jackson (il più vincente della storia del basket americano, 11 anelli) lo ritiene il più grande atleta che egli abbia mai allenato (tra i tanti, anche Michael Jordan, Shaquille O'Neal e Kobe Bryant sono stati giocatori dello stesso Jackson).
Comunque non son qui per parlare solo del modo in cui Rodman giocava sul campo, difatti ritengo altrettanto strabiliante la maniera in cui si comporta nella sua "vita quotidiana".
E' cresciuto in una sezione di Dallas, Texas, senza un padre (lasciò la famiglia) e con una madre che faceva un sacco di lavori occasionali, anche 4 contemporaneamente, e perciò stava poco in casa, così lui passava diverso tempo con le sorelle Debra e Kim.
Se la sua madre non era a casa, era solita lasciarli da soli ed affidare a Debra (la sorella maggiore, che poi verrà in Italia e giocherà a basket ad Ancona) un fucile da usare per l'autodifesa, e Dennis iniziò a sentirsi sopraffatto dall'ambiente casalingo totalmente femminile.
Successivamente Rodman ebbe una impressionante crescita fisica che lo rese ancor più riservato perchè non si sentiva a suo agio col suo corpo, Dennis divenne talmente insicuro con le donne che quando era adolescente iniziò a pensare di essere gay. Perse la verginità a 20 anni ed ebbe la sua prima avventura sessuale con una prostituta; descrisse quindi tale esperienza come spiacevole.
Tutti questi tipi di esperienze lo hanno reso il pazzo strabiliante uomo che è ora.
Una notte nel febbraio 1993 venne trovato nel parcheggio dei Pistons che dormiva nella sua auto con un fucile carico, successivamente in una delle sue biografie descrisse quella notte come quella in cui uccise il vecchio Dennis e fece affiorare il nuovo Dennis.
Era un così fantastico personaggio che MTV nel 1996 gli dedicò un reality show chiamato The Rodman world tour che lo mostrava in una serie di situazioni particolari.
Dopo il suo ritiro dal basket è stato un wrestler, un concorrente del Celebrity Big Brother(venne eliminato dopo 21 giorni), il sorprendente vincitore della talpa, un attore ed ora sta cercando di formare una squadra di giocatrici di basket in topless.
Vi lascio infine con 2 frasi particolari di Dennis Rodman e una foto che potete vedere nella sezione in inglese in cui è ritratto ad una festa di Halloween mentre indossa abiti femminili e fuma il sigaro, la prima citazione è comunque:
"Indosso leggings da donna sotto i miei vestiti ma niente lingerie"
la seconda invece parla del suo modo di interpretare il basket:
"sono la versione cestistica di un becchino".
